Frequently Asked Questions
-
A story portrait is a meaningful, written piece that captures the life, personality, and impact of someone you love.
Each one includes:
A relaxed, in-depth interview (about 1–1.5 hours), a beautifully written story, a framed print for display, and a digital copy to keep and share. Select stories will be featured by People of Noblesville (with permission).
Think of it as a legacy piece—like a magazine/newspaper feature meets a keepsake you’ll treasure forever.
-
Anyone with a story worth honoring (so… everyone, honestly).
Common reasons people book:
-Celebrating a parent or grandparent
-Honoring a spouse or friend
-Capturing a personal legacy
-Highlighting a business owner or community member
-Marking a milestone or life transition
If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could bottle up who they are…”—this is for you.
-
It’s chill. It’s relaxed, conversational, and honestly… kind of fun.
We’ll sit down (in person or virtually) and talk through your story—no pressure, no script, no performance required.
You don’t need to prepare anything. I guide the conversation and gently pull out the moments, memories, and meaning that make your story yours.
Most people leave saying, “That didn’t feel like an interview at all.”
-
Typically, you’ll receive your completed story portrait within 4-6 weeks after your interview.
This allows time to thoughtfully write, edit, and craft something that truly reflects the heart of your story—because this isn’t rushed work, it’s meaningful work. This also includes time for you to make any edits you see fit.
If you have a specific date in mind, I will do my best to accommodate.
-
Absolutely. In fact, we can do it together. You can opt to sit down for a portrait and you can tell me all about your loved one. I’ll write up a story in their honor and we can celebrate their journey and impact as a community.
-
Pricing varies depending on the project, but each framed story portrait includes the full experience: interview, writing, framed piece, and digital copy ($250).
If you would like me to write an article with no physical framed portrait (digital/shareable version only), that is $200.
A crowdfunded story is $225. An example would be to tell the story of an impactful teacher or coach, family experiencing hardship (unexpected illness, death in the family, etc.) or celebrating a milestone (wedding, birth, moving, graduation, retirement, etc.). Any money raised in excess of $225 will go directly to the family, individual, or cause of your choice.
If you’re interested, the best next step is to reach out or book a conversation—I’m happy to walk you through options and find what feels right for you.

For sure no. Not at all.
Most of us ramble, get off topic, say things redundantly or seemingly randomly, and forget where they were going with an answers. All totally normal.
You just need to show up as yourself.
It’s my job to help shape your story and bring it to life.
